You can use the drawing tools, accessible from the Smart Notebook Toolbar, to create your own objects.
Pens and Erasers
Choosing any of the pens above with your mouse from the Smart Toolbar. You can also chose, while using the interactive whiteboard, and change the color and style of the pen then write with it. Below are the three writing pens
You can choose the Eraser Tool to erase anything you have created with the pen tool. When you erase part of the object, the properties of the remaining parts can be changed independently.
Once you choose the size of your eraser, drag it over what you would like to erase. The little circle traces the path of the eraser. To erase a large amount on the screen place the eraser on the screen make a circle around what you want to erase then tap the eraser into the middle of the circle. All inside the circle will be erased.
Line Tool
To create straight lines click on the Line button in the Smart Tool Bar.
Choose your line and draw it in the Work Area. Once the line is complete you can click on either end of it and stretch it or change the angle. Holding the Shift key while pivoting a line, the line will snap in place every 45 degrees.
Shapes Tool
The Shapes tool allows you to create any size shape that can be added to the work area to enhance your presentation.
Chose the shape from the menu that you want to use. Position your cursor on the page where you would like to create the shape. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor until your shape is the desired size. To draw a perfect shape hold down the shift key while drawing.
Once in the Work Area the shape can be modified the same way you modify and manipulate other objects.
If you click on the Select tool icon and then double click on the shape, a text box will appear and you can add a label to your shape. You can also use the fill tool to change the color inside the shape.
Fill Tool
Any shape can be quickly filled with color by clicking the paint can icon over the shape object. The fill color is the last color chosen from the color palette. You can change the color in the Properties Tab. Once the shape is filled you can change that color by clicking on the shape and then choosing a color from the Properties Tab.
Inserting/Capturing Images
Insert
To add an image to the Smart Notebook Work Area you can use the Insert selection from the Smart Menu to import graphics, sound, video files and clip art from another location on your computer.
Capture
The Screen Capture toolbar allows you to capture an image, such as a digital photo from the internet, to a Smart Notebook page. To access the Screen Capture toolbar click the Screen Capture icon.
The floating Screen Capture toolbar will now appear on the screen. It floats through any program that is open and not just on the Smart Notebook. You can use the choices in the menu at any time.
There are 4 different capture methods.
Hold down the left mouse and drag to outline a rectangular area that you want to capture. Release the mouse button after the area is selected.
Click in the window you want to capture. Release the mouse button after the desired window appears as the hatched area.
Navigate to the screen you want to capture, and click the button to capture the entire screen.
Press and drag to create a freehand shape around the area you want to capture. Release the mouse button after the area is selected.
